The victual art section of the 6th Iran International Green Film Festival (IIGFF6) inaugurated at Saba Art and Cultural Institute in downtown Tehran attended by several high-ranking Iranian officials and foreign cinematic people.
Vice-President Masoumeh Ebtekar, Head of Department of Environment (DoE) Issa Kalantari, the secretary of IIGFF6 Farhad Tohidi, panel of jury, actors and actresses as well as several reporters also were present in the inauguration ceremony.
Several visual art works from 48 countries are competing in this section of the festival which is considered as the foremost cultural event focusing on protecting the environment in the Middle East.
Addressing the gathering, Kalantari underscored that the event would play a pivotal role in getting the Iranian people familiar with the environmental problems.
He stressed that DoE is keen on implementing more measures to get the people acquainted with the environmental dilemmas.
Kalantari also expressed hope that the Iranian people pay due attention to the environmental issues.
Addressing the same gathering, Ebtekar, for his part, appreciated the organizers of the festival.
She said this international cinematic event is trying to declare the environmental message in Iran and across the globe, adding that art is considered as a proper medium to this end.
The 6th edition of the event is currently underway simultaneously in Tehran, 140 towns and 155 halls across Iran.
The event would be wrapped up on September 15, 2017.
